Having jobs for moms at home sounds like an ideal situation, but there are definitely some things that are required in order to make the situation work.
The first thing you need is time. You have to be able to block off enough time each day to do your assigned shift or to complete the tasks that need to be completed. This might be difficult if you have small kids at home, so there may be short periods where you need a babysitter or daycare. Remember that if your position is talking to customers, you can't have kids screaming in the background.
Most of the time (depending on the job of course), you'll need to have a computer, a good Internet connection (no dialup!), a dedicated phone line, and perhaps other equipment like a fax machine or printer.
If you have a customer service position, you might need experience dealing with clients, and of course will probably need good typing skills. Good phone manners and a pleasant voice goes without saying too.
There are some great ideas here for the different kinds of jobs there are.
